We found an apartment!

We are happy to have found a great apartment in the museum area of town.  We move in September 15th!

Tanning

We drove by a business in New Jersey called The Family Tanning Center.

Because in New Jersey, even the children tan.

As if I wasn't pale enough....

Jersey Shore

Yesterday we went to the Jersey Shore.  All I can say is, it was interesting...

The boardwalk.

They have a chairlift along the beach.  Strange.

We saw those guys from that show.
The best was all of the girls following them - I heard several say 'Oh my God, they are soooooooo hot!!!!'

The pier amusement park.

Lots and lots of people.

Cheesesteaks!

Yesterday we ate our first Cheesesteaks (you only say Philly Cheesesteak if you are a tourist, but we're locals now).  Mine was so much food that I ate it for lunch and dinner, and Vincent still had to finish a third of it for me.  From now on, we are sharing and ensuring there is a couch or bed nearby for the immediate post-cheesesteak nap.

I think there are a couple of French guys out there who will really enjoy the challenge of Cheesesteak eating - come visit soon!!!

Delicious!

Apparently Ben Franklin was a rental agent.  Who knew?

Nice old house, in a nice old part of town.

Stating the obvious.

Mosaic on a storefront.

Philly Moments

I was walking down the street, deep in thought about apartments, which to choose, which neighbourhood was best, etc, and passed a man sitting on a stoop taking his lunch break.  He looked at my fast pace and furrowed brow and said with a thick Southern accent:

Keep your head up gorgeous - it's gonna be al-right.

Made my day.

I love the Phillies - and their fans!

We went to the Phillies game last night, and even though they lost we had so much fun.  Phillies fans love to boo at everything, and you (well I) just have to join in.  The fans are passionate about their team and love to get involved.  And, they tail gate before the game - next time I'm bringing my BBQ!
